Hello people! Happy sunday!
Well I wanted to put up this post yesterday but was so lazy and tired for some reason I do not understand. Anyways that was yesterday, today I have decided to talk about my major tools (brushes). Every makeup artist needs them, In fact not just makeup artist you also need them, you dont necessarily have to get every bit of them but you should get the major ones. My sisters and friends all got their sets once they understood the importance of having a flawless make up, they all got a set each just like a makeup artist does. Anyways if you are not a make up artist you can just get the foundation brush, powder brush, blush brush and eyeshadow brush depending on the one you need.
Below are some pictures of my brushes, my best are the sigma brushes and the bdellium brushes which are quite affordable and very good. They are other brushes just like the Mac, Bobbi brown and Clinique brushes but they are too expensive to me tho. They are good but sigma and bdellium are not that expensive and still works as good as those ones. I have had the sigma for 2 to 3years now, but the bdellium I just got them in February.
How you take care of your brushes determines how they last, you have to follow certain instructions while cleaning your brushes, so you can have them for a long time.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BRUSHES
You can either wash your brushes with shampoo or use a brush cleanser:
a. To wash your brushes use a mild shampoo designed for human hair. Start by adding shampoo to luke warm water, dip in brushes, brush the brushes back and forth on your palm. Then run under clear water repeat back and forth motion until the water runs clean ( do not face the top of your brushes up while running under the water to avoid water soaking into the handle and ferrule as it can cause rust or deterioration). Then squeeze out the excess water and lay flat to dry.
b. If you are using a brush cleanser always read the instructions first, because some brush cleansers requires you to use water with it and some do not. Like the Shu uemura's and Mac cleansers requires you to pour the brush cleanser into a small glass and swirl your brush in it then lay flat to dry. While, the bobbi brown cleanser requires you to spray on a kitchen towel or tissue and sweep the brush back and forth on it, then you can use the brush immediately .
These four brushes are my favourite!!!
From L-R: Precision round( used to apply eyeshadow base or primer onto the lid) Precision tapered (used for exact placement of concealer in harder to reach areas such as around the nose, eyes, chin and around the mouth) Precision flat (used to stipple concealer on sun spots, blemishes and other small imperfections) Precision angled ( used to apply products to areas such as the sides of the nose and the hallows of the cheeks)
Dou fibre brushes: It can be used to apply powder, liquid or cream products. It provides the versatility of being able to layer products beautifully on to the skin.
Natural powder brush: It is used to apply all types of powder across your face. It distributes the powder while air brushing and blending the makeup beneath it .
Precision kabuki brush: It can be used to apply powder blush, cream to powder foundation, mineralised powder or bronzer ( i used them to apply foundation mostly, they are awesome).
Angled contour brush: The angle is used to softly contour the cheek bone and can also be used to apply blush
Tapered blending brush: Using just the tip to apply colour, sweep back and forth through the crease for a diffused and blended finish (mostly used for blending eyeshadows).
Angled shading brush: It is used for brow highlighting and to blend the crease
Eye shadow brush: It is used to place colour across the entire lid for an even and strong application products.
Pencil brush: It is used to soften pencil liners along the top and bottom lash line, to also add shadow to line the eyes or use to highlight inner corner of the eyes
Angled contour brush: It is used for contouring with intense colour, highlights on inner and outer corner of the eye area with precision ( these are another brushes i love so much they work perfectly well for me).
Lip pencil: The firm edge is used to defined and contour the lips.
Kabuki buffer brush: It is used to buff mineral powder products onto the skin with a circular motion for the best effect. Softens harsh lines following blush and contouring.
Foundation brush: It is used to apply liquid or cream product such as foundation and primer.
Concealer brush: It is used to conceal the hardest to reach areas such as around the nose and eyes.
Angled brow brush: It is used to apply powder or gel product to brows using a sketching motion to achieve hair like effects.
Okay that is it people. There are so many brushes out there, but i can recommend the sigma and bdellium brushes they are not too expensive and work so well. Try not to go for the over cheap brushes they don't last long. I hope this post helps a lot! See u guys later, mwaaaaaahzzz!!!
